Girl mowed by a snow thrower: police dismisses the criminal case

    The Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) dismisses the criminal case in its investigation into the death of an 8 year old girl mowed by a truck for snow removal in December last year, in the area of Charlesbourg.

    No charges will therefore be filed against the driver of the snow thrower involved in the fatal accident.

    The SPVQ confirms to have ended its investigation on the events of last December 1, and indicates “no impact criminal is not related to this accident”. “We pass the investigation to the coroner, who will dwell on the causes of the deaths and make recommendations as appropriate”, according to David Poitras, a spokesperson for the SPVQ.

    Michelle Solaye Tchoutouo lost his life tragically in the parking lot of the building where she lived, in 1685, boulevard Louis-XIV.

    A snow thrower that was backing up in the parking lot of a residential building had tripped the young girl when she was returning home from school to go have dinner at her house. The collision had been fatal.
