Google is testing a new system for the determination of locations for those who call in service of rescue 911. It is noted that most people in the US calling the emergency number 911 from a mobile, not a landline. Because of this, automatically detect the location and send help fails, reports Rus.Media.

The new technology allows to know the location of the person with an accuracy of 36 meters, but the system only works with Android-based smartphones. According to the Federal communications Commission of the United States, reducing response time to an emergency call at least 1 minute will annually save more than 10 thousand lives.
