Green Day at the AccorHotels Arena, a powerful concert for the Revolution Radio Tour

Entertainment 4 February, 2017

Yesterday, Green Day delivered a powerful concert on the occasion of its unique date in Paris for the Revolution Radio Tour. We were inside the AccorHotels Arena, you are told!
No need to present Green Day, one of the most mythical bands in rock history. Before the monster success of their album American Idiot in 2004, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool already had a rich discography filled with punk-rock anthems . And it is precisely this impressive collection that the group originally from Oakland came to defend last night during an exceptional concert inside the AccorHotels Arena in Paris! In full world tour for their latest album Revolution Radio , Green Day did not make any detour through France for over four years. It is with undisguised excitement, while a part of the editorial attended the grand return of the Lacrim Yoyo , we headed to the concert hall! Having been able to ambiancer like the good old days of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen and “Blitzkrieg Bop” Ramones, it is already time for Green Day on stage to 20 hours on the dot. It’s gone for two and a half hours of show!
If we admit shamefully to have ignored the last two installments of the Californian group, we are quickly reassured when we take a quick look at the setlist which mixes both titles dating from 1992 and 2016. After recent “Know Your Enemy” , “Bang Bang” and “Revolution Radio” , Green Day is soon to meet his fans with the tubes “Holiday” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” , separate the equally excellent “Letterbomb” fired from the same album ( American Idiot ). “Can the fans of the first hour raise their hands in the air and sing with us?” Billie Joe asked the thousands of people before starting “Longview” who has not aged (like the bass line played by Mike Dirnt). Between flames, fireworks and giant banners lights as a backdrop, the trio still control both the stage and has as much energy as the final where they had been seen there almost ten years. They do not hesitate to get two fans on stage during the concert!
We retain our tears when Billie Joe gets the unsung songs of the general public “Waiting” , “Hitchin ‘a Ride” , “When I Come Around” , “Scattered” , “Minority” or “She” that have rocked our whole adolescence . The excitement continued when the group connects the sublime “Are We The Waiting” monitoring “St. Jimmy” as a title favorite ever fans: “Basket Case” . The atmosphere is festive for ten minutes with “King for a Day” that turns into medley of classic rock ( “Shout” , “(I Can not Get No) Satisfaction” , “Alway Look on the Bright Side of Life ” , ” Hey Jude ” ) just before ending with ” Still Breathing ” and ” Forever Now ” . But Green Day mimes very badly his departure on stage because we were sure that the boys could not leave without making still 2-3 tubes. And so when they come back with “American Idiot” where Donald Trump is insulted by the singer just before playing the centerpiece their album American Idiot : “Jesus of Surburbia” . Now alone on stage, singer Billie Joe “Ordinary World” and especially the sublime “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” which earned us retain our tears to end the concert in style. We hope to see them this summer as they are programmed in many festivals, like Ed Sheeran who already full with his concert in Paris . What were your favorite times of the concert?
