Psychologists from the American Purdue University in Indiana conducted a study of 1.7 million people from 164 countries and came to the conclusion that happiness can be bought. But the amount varies depending on the country, reports Rus.Media.

For example, in USA a person needs to earn from $60,000 to $75,000 per year to achieve emotional well-being, and $95 000 for life satisfaction.

The researchers noticed that if a certain threshold of income is reached, further increase typically leads to lower life satisfaction and decreasing emotional well-being.

Scientists attribute this to the fact that money can satisfy basic needs, customer requests, but to a certain point. And after passing the optimal point, people tend to buy more wealth, get involved in the social race, comparing ourselves to others, which reduces their emotional happiness.

Psychologist Lena Moskalenko has another theory. To the question: what to do if you do not feel happiness, even if it is all she said:

The happiness of man consists of seven levels: 1st — “I” (my body, mind, emotions); 2nd — “my house”; 3rd — “me and my mate” (husband/wife); 4th — “me and my family” (children, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents); 5th — “I and others” (relationships with neighbors, colleagues, friends); 6th — “me and the city” (I’m doing something useful for the prosperity of the “small Motherland”), 7th — “I and the world” (I participate in projects of “universal good”: for example, help orphans, improve the environment on our planet).

Now consider well on each of these levels. If some failed, then above it yet you before to do something — on a higher rung you have nothing, but you will spend a lot of effort to achieve the unattainable.
