After the suicide last November, in an operating room, a neurosurgeon of 36 years, the management dehumanised to the direction of the CHU of Grenoble is pinned in a report by the ministry of Health. Written by Edouard Couty, a national ombudsman appointed by the minister of Solidarity and of Health Agnès Buzin in the aftermath of the tragedy, to establish a “diagnosis on the situation of the institution and on the nature and difficulties encountered”, the report was made public.
At the end of three days of hearings on the spot, Edouard Couty lists the dizzying heights of a series of failures, including in the management of health care providers. “The style of management, which maintains permanently a certain amount of pressure on the teams, and prioritizes the result […] must change,” he wrote, referring to the “challenging budget”.
