    SAINT-ANDRÉ-D’ARGENTEUIL | A man of the Laurentians is the hunger strike to the inside of the home was damaged and unsafe for his parents-so that Québec pays out the money promised last spring, before the end of the work.

    The problem is that the parents don’t have the money to complete the work in their place of residence.

    Quebec pays the money to the victims only when the work is finished. No bank agrees to help them since their residence is no longer of value.

    “I’m not wealthy. My husband and I live modestly, there are jobs common, so we didn’t have the means to advance the money, ” said Anne-Marie Forget, owner of the residence to the Terrace Robitaille in Saint-André-d’argenteuil.

    The house was raised three feet, for floods in the future.

    “I’m doing it for my parents-in-law, for it to advance, and I shan’t move from here as you will not get a response. In the meantime, I am doing work in the house, ” adds the man, 36-year-old, who works in the middle of the building.

    Problems of parents-in-law began during the floods of April and may 2017. The water has invaded the house. When the situation subsided, mold and fungus had attacked the whole of the remains.

    “Since the 21st of April, I left my house while it had 46 inches of water in my yard. I lived in my trailer until 18 November. There, I rent a house and pay my mortgage, ” says Anne-Marie Forget, owner of the residence and mother-in-law of Alexander Casavant.

    Emergency work

    Contractors are not lining up at the doors to get the contracts. Them either do not wish to advance the money work without knowing when they will be paid.

    The mayor of Saint-André-d’argenteuil elected last November, Marc-Olivier Labelle, has also been very active in the folder of the victims since his election.

    A neighbour, Anne-Marie Forget also proposed to host it.
