Hospital : the French feared a decline in the quality of care

France is distinguished by the quality of its care and its health system. But for how long ? According to a survey Odoxa conducted for the Federation hospitalière de France (FHF), the French are alarmed for the future of the hospital system. Many of them are very pessimistic.

The survey shows that three quarters (75 %) of respondents believe that the quality of care provided by establishments of health is going to deteriorate in the future. According to 67 % of the respondents, the public authorities do not take sufficient account of the crucial issue of the future of healthcare institutions.

Priority health

Despite the doubts, more than seven in ten French think that France is the european country that guarantees the best access to the public hospital, ahead of Germany (16 %). For two-thirds of the respondents, the Hexagon offers the best care in the hospital. They are 56 % believe that the way to take place today in the course of patient care between the primary doctor, specialists, and hospitals – is proceeding satisfactorily.

These French pessimists think almost all (94 %) that health should be a priority for funding and investment. More than half (54 %) perceive with fear the use of teleconsultation (remote consultation) and in the same proportion, the development of the use of “big data” (processing of data stored) in health.

As to the question of access to health care, three-quarters of respondents believe that the regions should play a more important role in the governance of the health system. Nearly half (47 %) also prefer to have access to ” several small hospitals potentially more close to home, but not all of the specialties, or ways to deal with all the problems of health “.
