The famous “hunter planet” probe called TESS, will sent into space in April this year. Information reported in the Space center of a name of John Kennedy. According to experts, the device will carry out the mission Exoplanet Survey Satellite. From the title it is clear that TESS will search for and study of exoplanets, reports Rus.Media.

According to representatives of the laboratory, with the new probe it is possible to study at least 200 stars and celestial bodies that surround them. This will involve the method of transit, i.e. the amount of light that comes from a specific body and is registered for a long time.

This method is used when a planet passes over the disk of its star. A new unit will establish four telescopes, which will find many exoplanets. In particular, the researchers hope to find a planet suitable for life. They can be covered with water and to have a reason, and atmospheric layer.

It is planned that TESS will fly into space on April 16 of this year.
