The police officers of the Sûreté du Québec dismantled on Thursday a large network of cannabis production “well-established and well-structured” in the area of Vaudreuil-Soulanges in the Montérégie.
Six raids were carried out in a warehouse and five residences located in the municipalities of Saint-Lazare, Saint-Polycarpe, Sainte-Marthe, The Cedars, and Île-Perrot.
The police have dismantled four greenhouses for production of cannabis, and seized more than 1,300 marijuana plants, 40 pounds of pots of cannabis, approximately 490 grams of cannabis resin, long arms, a prohibited weapon, and magazines, three vehicles and more than $ 34,000 in cash.
In total, 10 suspects – seven men and three women – have been pinned during the operation.
Eight of them were to appear Friday in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield under charges of production and trafficking of narcotic drugs.
The operation was the result of an investigation that began there a few weeks ago.
