In Germany, the developers gumanova the work of TIAGo from the company PAL Robotics has taught him to look for the way to the refrigerator, open it and bring out a beer of desired brand.

As stated in the project description on the website ChallengeRocket, the robot TIAGo was combined with a supercomputer NVIDIA Jetson TX2, which was used as the visual system. With it, the humanoid was able to build a route to the fridge, find his handle, and choose a beer of desired brand of several that were in the fridge.

Before the experiment, the robot was trained with 60 images of 20 bottles of varying backgrounds. For this purpose we used the algorithm of semantic segmentation: he allowed TIAGo to allocate objects on a common background and to classify them according to the form, reports Rus.Media.
