News 25 February, 2018

Joint efforts of special services of Russia and Argentina prevented the traffic from Argentina to the Russian Federation. The details of the operation were shared by the Minister of security of Argentina Patricia Bullrich.

She said that in December 2016, the Russian Embassy was informed that in one of the rooms was found a few bags filled with cocaine. The joint efforts of special services of the two States conducted a special operation. In the process of the drug substance was changed to flour, and the pouch put GPS trackers. With their help, the police began to monitor the telephone calls of criminals involved in trying to smuggle drugs over the border.

The operation was carried out successfully, there had been the slightest leakage. Bullrich reported that the value of the confiscated cocaine on the black market could amount to 50 million euros.

The users enthusiastically welcomed the news. However, I was surprised that in his statement, the Minister used the phrase “black market”. They wondered, are there “white market” of cocaine. Others are upset due to the fact that this obviously involved Russian diplomats, since the technical staff could hardly organize traffic.
