IPhone 8: 2 years to generalize the OLED screens?

Techno 7 March, 2017

The iPhone 8 will be the first Apple phone to be equipped with an OLED display. However, it will take two years for the whole range to benefit.
The rumor is confirmed: the screen of the iPhone 8 will be his main innovation. The next brand-name apple should indeed be entitled to a borderless design, which should be very similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S8 . Nikkei even claims that Apple should present three separate iPhone 8 models next September. One of these would be equipped with an OLED screen. This technology, already used by many Android manufacturers, has some advantages to be argued. This allows, for example, substantial energy savings. It will nevertheless be necessary to wait two years before the main novelty of the iPhone 8 is generalized to the whole range.
The information comes from the South Korean The Bell . According to the latter, it will be necessary until 2019 so that all iPhone have an OLED screen. One of Apple’s subcontractors would be investing more than $ 800 million to produce OLED screens in large quantities. In the absence of sufficient stock, there will indeed be only one model of iPhone 8 equipped with this technology at the beginning of 2017. The latter should be marketed at a price more than premium, exceeding cheerfully the 1000 € . Apple will present two other versions at its sides, but still with an LCD screen, as on the older generations. You validate this strategy?
