He knew that the Great Reaper took one day or the other. With Jean Rochefort, died at the age of 87 yearsand this is all the French cinema that cries the death of an actor of talent. In his last film role, he played the role of a man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. A character that had so strongly marked, in the twilight of his life.
“I entrust myself to just this role that has been painful. I’ve had a few like that in my career, but this is the one that wins. Because he made me face myself, and to death,” he declared in 2015 in our fellow-members of the JDD. Two years before his disappearance, Jean Rochefort spoke, therefore, his last sleep with relative serenity. ” I feel it coming, and there are moments where I’m glad that it happens. The body of the request, and the head sometimes also. But we don’t want to be a grief to others ” entrusted it with a lot of sincerity. His wife Frances and his five children cry today a man who had conquered the hearts of millions of French.
If it was more rare on the screens, Jean Rochefort remained one of the most admired spectators in French. Away from the cinema, the actor had ” other concerns in existence “. At the top of these were particular ” horses and women “. ” This is a great opportunity : the actors should have other interests to know other people and to feed their work, ” advised then Jean Rochefort.
