The québec ombudsman considers that the dialysis service of the Hospital Maisonneuve-Rosemont are offered in “an environment that is inappropriate and unsafe” and that it is “unacceptable” that patients are treated in anticipation of the construction of new premises to be ready in 2019.

The trailer adjacent to the hospital in which such services were in “bad states,” said Wednesday the public Protector, which noted in a report of the investigation of the traces of mold and a leaky roof.

He adds that “the temperature of the premises is inadequate for a middle-of-care: too cold in winter and too hot in the summer.

In addition, the cleaning of the screens of the service of dialysis is not performed according to the standards in force”.

Having looked into this matter after complaints from patients, the public Protector says that the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital is committed to addressing these issues.
