The first drama of the life of France Gall, it is the sudden death of her husband and the father of her children, Michel Berger, August 2, 1992 when he was only 44 years old.
His former press secretary Grégoire Colard entrusted to France on Sunday that the singer had major problems of cholesterol that did not die old : “A year ago, he had had a month of salt-free diet, no butter, before rebelling in his own way, always very measured. On August 2, 1992, at his home in Ramatuelle in the south of France, Michel Berger interrupts a part of tennissuite to pain in the chest. They disappear a few minutes later and he does not mention his wife France Gall. But in the evening, the pain returned while the artist takes a bath. This time, worried, he informs his wife, who immediately calls a doctor. It is Michel Berger lying in his bed, he no longer suffers, but is concerned for the following : “I was squeezing in the chest, I do not want to re-suffer like that.” The doctor then contact SOS médecins and the Uas, equipped with the necessary equipment for the cardiac care of which the composer seems to need. But it is too late. After a final attempt at medical and prior to that the relief does not arrive, Michel Berger dies.
Less than a year after, France Gall was diagnosed with breast cancer which she attributed to the pain of losing her companion. She died on Sunday, January 7, at the age of 70 years.
