Montérégie: the SQ dismantling a cannabis production and stops three people

    SAINTE-MARTHE | A illegal production of cannabis was seized and three persons were arrested by the Sûreté du Québec on Sunday at Sainte-Marthe, some fifteen kilometres to the south of Rigaud, in Montérégie.

    A call received to 13: 45, has led the officers of the SQ, to an address of the montée Saint-Henri, in this small, rural town located near the border with the province of Ontario.

    “On the spot, the police have discovered a cannabis production and have carried out the dismantling,” said Ann Mathieu, spokesperson for the SQ. By the same token, the three people on the spot have been arrested.”

    One of the three people arrested is a woman of 30 years old, from Laval. She was released with a promise to appear in court at a later date.

    The other two are an individual of 32 years of Sainte-Marthe, and another 28-year-old, resident of Vaudreuil. They will be appearing later this week at the palais de justice de Valleyfield under various charges in the field of drugs.

    On the places of their intervention, the police in particular have seized more than 300 cannabis plants, more than 700 cuttings, approximately five grams of cocaine, more than 300 grams of hashish, approximately two kilograms of cannabis, as well as production equipment such as lamps.
