TWO MOUNTAINS – The police officers of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) have seized more than 20 000 contraband cigarettes during a search in a vehicle that is located on the boulevard des Promenades in deux-Montagnes.

During this search, which took place on the 25th of January last, the officers from the Division of investigations on the smuggling of the SQ seized 21 400 cigarettes, 400 small cigars.

Two persons, suspected to be involved in the smuggling and sale of tobacco products illegal in the region of Louiseville in the Mauricie region, have been arrested. They could face charges under the Act relating to the tobacco tax.
