More than 500 new cancer cases per day in Canada

    In this world cancer Day, no less than 565 Canadians will learn that they suffer also from this disease.

    For the canadian cancer Society, 4 February is an opportunity to raise awareness of this disease that has resulted in over 80,000 deaths in Canada in 2017.

    According to statistics compiled by the organization, there has been 206 200 new cases of cancer in the country over the last year. Half of the new cases are lung cancers, colorectal, breast and prostate.

    In the course of his life, one in two canadians will be diagnosed with cancer and one in four dies from it. According to the canadian cancer Society, 60 % of Canadians with the disease are still alive five years after their diagnosis.

    In Quebec, the prostate cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in men. For women, it is breast cancer. Cancer of the lung, however, is the one that causes the most deaths in the quebec population.
