The police investigations is growing on the territory of the city of Quebec in connection with the crimes of hate surrounding everything that occurred at the islamic cultural Centre of Québec (CCIQ) for over a year.

Wednesday, it was learned that the vehicle of the chairman of the CCIQ has been the subject of an arson attack some 36 hours after the announcement of the sale of municipal property at CCIQ, in order to allow the development of a muslim cemetery in Quebec city. An investigation is underway on this subject in the last few weeks.

Furthermore, the investigators of the police Department of the City of Quebec (SPVQ) are still trying to pin the suspects who have deposited a pig head to the big mosque and left a hate message in June 2016.

Concerning the Qur’an shredded last July with a knife and a hate message left as to the entrance of the mosque, the investigation continues.

“Good quality images have been viewed, but do not allow to conclude to the identity of the author of the gesture. However, it is still in the search of the person and, if necessary, we will appeal to the media if necessary,” says Pierre Poirier, spokesperson for the SPVQ.

In addition, at the beginning of August, the feces were left near the CCIQ. “We made a analysis of the location. Is it the feces that have been projected? Is it that someone would have had a discomfort? There was no other thing on the premises which allows to conclude to an incident of hate,” says the police officer Poirier.
