More than a year and a half after it won a tender for the revitalization of LeBreton flats in Ottawa, the group RendezVous LeBreton, in which is involved the owner of the Senators Eugene Melnyk, would be on the point of concluding an agreement with the national capital Commission.

The daily newspaper “Ottawa Citizen” reported the information on Tuesday. The project Enlightenment, which includes the construction of a new arena in this area of the city centre belonging to the Commission, need the agreement of transfer of land to put on.

The agreement will also be submitted to the board of directors of the Commission, which will hold a meeting on Thursday.

The Senators are trying to get closer to the centre of the city, since the location of the Centre, Canadian Tire, current home of the club, is regarded as a disadvantage and a barrier to maintaining good audience.

So far this season, about 16 236 people have crossed on average the turnstiles at home matches of the team, is the ninth worst performance in the national hockey League.
