Race underground warm to encourage the “vitality”

More than 1,000 people have traded their winter boots vs. sneakers this Sunday during a race of underground in Montreal that had not taken place since 10 years.

The users of the metro were surprised in the morning by joggers running near 5 km of an underground route that begins in the Cours Mont-Royal and ending at the Complexe Desjardins.

Renewed Tradition

While his former colleagues are in Pyeongchang, the ex-olympian Kathy Tremblay has decided to move the Quebec renewing with a tradition that was extinguished in the metropolis.

“It’s been 10 years that we haven’t seen this race underground of 5 km to Montreal,” says the triathlete. This is the first year that I have the chance to achieve it and now I am here to ensure that the tradition can continue.”

The goal behind this race is called “The Classic 5KM Montreal’s Underground city” is not trivial. Kathy Tremblay has powered Classics, a non-profit organization (NPO), whose mission is to prevent school dropout among adolescents, young families and retirees.

Boost

“I’m the first to go South in the winter. I know how difficult it is to move when everything is frozen outside, ” said the athlete who desires to give a boost to people like her. I wanted to create a positive experience and motivate people to maintain their health and vitality with this race.”

Several of the participants have testified to the “24 Hours” that it was the first time that they gave to the sport since the beginning of the winter season.

“I need a group to motivate me,” said André-Anne Gagnon, who was accompanied by his two children and said a lack of time to move. It was really the perfect opportunity to renew with the training during the winter and in the family.”

The price of participation is $ 50 and the event has quickly displayed “complete”. All funds raised during this race will be invested in the organization for The Classics and in its projects, the mission approach of motivation self-determined life (MAVIA) to prevent the stall physics.
