A teacher in ontario 28-year-old has been accused of sexual assault following allegations that she was involved in a sexual relationship with a student.

Marianna Riossi is facing three counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual exploitation. A hearing in Court is scheduled for 6 march.

According to York regional police, the investigation began in January after the authorities had received information according to which a substitute teacher in the catholic district school board of York was involved in a relationship with a student. The alleged events reportedly took place between October and December 2017.

In a statement reported by the “Toronto Star”, a spokesperson of the school board, has called the allegations serious and “regrettable”.

“Ms. Riossi was immediately removed from her teaching position and is currently on leave of absence, in accordance with the procedure. We cooperate with the York regional police,” said Sonia Gallo.
