However, not long ago, a relative of the artist Frida Kahlo addressed the company with a claim regarding that the image of a member of her family used in order to enrich themselves in this way. Mara Romeo demands monetary compensation, but also insisted on changing the appearance of a doll with the image of Frida Kahlo – according to her, it is more like a regular Barbie, the famous artist.

Mattel responded to the claim and explained that the use of appearance Kalo agreed with the company that owns the rights to everything associated with the artist. Relatives say that the company can not dispose of the images of the artist, but only her name, however, firm oparive this statement.
