    OTTAWA – The Imperial Caviar & Seafood proceeds to the recall of”trout Eggs”, brands Imperial Caviar & Seafood and VIP Caviar Club, due to the possible presence of the bacterium “Clostridium botulinum”.

    The products affected by the recall were sold in Quebec:

    -Imperial Caviar & Seafood “trout Eggs” in the format of 100 g (CUP, 1 86866 51017 1, Codes BB-24-APR-2018 11417-02) and in the format 50 g (CUP, 1 86866 51016 4, Codes BB-24-APR-2018 11417-01).

    – VIP Caviar Club “trout Eggs” in the format of 50 g (CUP, 1 86866 51016 4, Codes BB-11-OCT-2018 28417-01).

    The canadian food inspection agency (CFIA) recommends that you do not consume these foods and throw it away or return it to where it was purchased. People who consumed any of these products are encouraged to consult with his doctor.

    The food contaminated by the toxin of the bacterium “Clostridium botulinum” are not necessarily of alteration visible or smell suspicious. The symptoms are: facial palsy or loss of facial expression, the pupils non-reactive or fixed, difficulty swallowing, drooping eyelids, blurred or double vision, difficulty speaking, slurred speech and a change in the sound of the voice, or the hoarse voice.

    The CFIA states that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this product has been reported to date.
