Saturday, the wife of 33 years went in front of what remains of the residence of the street Cajuns to drop off a teddy bear.

Even if she does not know the family of a victim of the blaze, Ms. Happyjack can easily imagine what it passes through.

On October 27, 2013, it was she who saved her two boys of five and seven years from his home in flames, a few streets away.

Unfortunately, her husband, 33-year-old, was died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

“As for me, when it happened to me, I refused to accept it,” she says. I would like for anyone to live what I lived. “

    Courage

“I worry a lot for the parents,” she continues. It’s going to take a lot of courage. They are going to have to have a good emotional support. “

On his side, Emilie Happyjack has found the help she needed at the maison Au Diapason, a body of Bromont that provides palliative care and support for families dealing with illness or grief.

“When I went there, I was recognized as “the frustrated”, she recalls. But on the way out, I was feeling much better. “

She adds that fortunately, the residents of Dunham are also endowed with great generosity.

“The solidarity that there is here, it’s really incredible,” she says.

A fundraiser for the couple who has lost a son in a fire Saturday was started by a neighbor, Melissa Martin, on the site GoFundMe.com. A few hours later, close to $ 5,000 had already been raised.
