Samsung would have stopped its choice of chipset for its Galaxy S8. A new Exynos will be at the heart of the smartphone according to the latest rumors.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 should be a best seller, Samsung is convinced . However, while it has not even been unveiled and therefore not present on the market, the future smartphone still has some mysteries not elucidated. It starts with its chipset. Samsung has teased a few days ago about the new generation of its homemade chipset, Exynos. It seems that it is one of them that will make common class with the Samsung Galaxy S8. Sammobile found information on an employee’s LinkedIn profile at the Research and Development Institute of Samsung in Bangalore.
The chipset would be an Exynos 9810 engraved in 10 nm with two variants. The first would be named Exynos 9810V. There is an 18-core GPU Mali-G71. The second variant would be known under the name Exynos 9810M associated with a 20-core GPU. Sammobile adds that the new generation of processors made in Samsung should also benefit from a Mongoose M2 processor taking over the Exynos M1. Judged similar to the Snapdragon 835, it will be necessary to wait to see this Exynos 9810 in action before knowing its place in front of the Apple A10 or the Kirin 970 of Huawei. While we wonder if Bixby will speak French on the Samsung Galaxy S8 , there is no doubt that the smartphone takes shape. It remains to wait for its launch.
