School travel: second day of a strike in Montreal

    Nearly 15,000 students on the island of Montreal will be affected by this second day of strike action in the transport sector school.

    Last week, the drivers of the company Transco has rejected 98% of the latest offers employers while continuing their strike mandate.

    On Wednesday, the drivers began their second day of strike action , since there is no agreement yet has been reached.

    The question of wages is the main point of dispute, had indicated to the union by way of a press release on Monday evening, denouncing an “impoverishment of the workers.”

    Belonging to the american First Student, the company, Transco will serve a number of educational pathways, Montreal. The union represents nearly 330 drivers responsible for more than 300 transport pathway school in Montreal.

    Schools in four school boards are affected, either English Montreal (88 golf course), Marguerite-Bourgeoys (82 courses), Commission scolaire de Montréal (59 courses), Lester B. Pearson (55 tracks), as well as the private college Holy-Anne (18 courses).
