Some forgo meat, believing it to be harmful to health, others for ethical reasons, and others so concerned about the environment. But, according to a recent survey, this diet has a piquant side effect, reports Rus.Media.

A study in which it surveyed 2,000 Britons, showed that 42% of meat-eaters (who eat meat once a day or more) have sex once a week or more often. While among vegetarians and those who rarely eats meat, a similar result could boast only 16% of respondents.

The highest percentage of meat eaters that have sex once a week or more, was discovered in Wales (49%), Britain (46%) and Scotland (40%).

However, men who consume too much meat, nutritionists recommend to reconsider your diet. Foods high in saturated fat and cholesterol cause not only cardiovascular disease, but also erectile dysfunction.

“Given the fact that the disease of the arteries leads to disruption of the natural blood flow, it is obvious that the erection depends on blood flow, will also be threatened if there are problems with the cardiovascular system,” says nutritionist Karen Davis.

The fastest way to build your diet is to reduce the number of products that contain cholesterol and saturated fats (margarine, animal fats, palm and coconut fats), and eat more foods rich in vegetable protein (legumes, nuts and seeds).
