Several tens of magnetic storms, including two to four very strong, is expected to Land in 2018, reports Rus.Media.

Magnetic storms on Earth begin when the magnetosphere of the planet “hit” the Sun ejected plasma bunches. Charged particles cause geomagnetic disturbances. If they reach a large force, it can cause failures in electronic equipment, disruption to radio and electrical networks.

“In 2018 are expected to be 20-35 geomagnetic storms, among which two to four large and very large. The probability of occurrence of storms of the highest category (extreme) about 5%”.

Streams of highly energetic electrons will continue to grow, some of them will be long-term (five days or more) that can adversely affect electronics geostationary and low-orbit satellites. “E-growth can be the most dangerous factor of space weather in the next year”, — stated in the forecast.

From 1 January to 1 December 2017 at the Ground, there were 29 of geomagnetic storms, including two large and one very large.

The third in 2018, a magnetic storm will cover the Earth on March 18. Perturbed geomagnetic conditions are expected on 14, 16 and 17 March. To this weak magnetic storm was registered on 19 February, namely the first event with the beginning of the year was zafiksirovan January 15.
