    DRUMMONDVILLE | correctional officers have seized almost $ 15,000 of drug that of the inmates in the medium security penitentiary in Drummondville and their visitors were trying to introduce into the establishment there is a period of ten days.

    The banned products have been seized in two separate occasions on the same day, on Saturday 22 July. Two days later, on 24 July, another person, an outsider, who also attempted to introduce contraband inside the walls, has also been questioned by correctional officers using a detector dog for drugs, and then arrested by the Sûreté du Québec.

    “Among the prohibited items seized include morphine, hashish, tablets of Valium and methamphetamine along with tobacco, has indicated the correctional Service of Canada in a press release. In total, the value property of the items seized is estimated at 14 812 $.”

    The penitentiary in Drummondville, officially called the Drummond Institution, can accommodate about 369 detainees.
