OTTAWA | Seven people, including the former minister, Lawrence Cannon, president of Imperative French Jean-Paul Perreault and former senator franco-albertan Claudette Tardif, will be decorated with the Ordre de la Pléiade at the Ottawa parliament, on Tuesday.
The canadian section of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF) is organising the ceremony, in the framework of the international Day of the Francophonie.
There are five ranks within the Order of the Pléiade, Knight, Officer, Commander, Grand Officer and Grand Cross. The College recognizes the merit of the personalities who contributed to spreading the French language.
Recipients of the Ordre de la Pléiade in 2018:
