According to the fourth vice-president of the SPGQ, David Bernans, who took part in the action, five union members have tried to disrupt the speech of the prime minister in the framework of the Forum on the valorisation of diversity and the fight against discrimination.
One of the members of the group, however, was intercepted before being able to enter the room since he had on him a banner, said Mr. Bernans at the QMI Agency.
This latter is noted by being forcibly expelled, just before the start of the press conference. “I just wanted to talk. I was not aggressive, assured the manager, who was escorted out of the building. The proof of this is that the police has made me my voice, without the batteries, but there is zero charge.”
A second member of the group was expelled a few minutes later, while another managed to sneak among the journalists to question the prime minister during question period.
David Bernans explained that the action had aimed “to denounce the cuts of recent years and the poor decisions of the liberal government in the services offered by the ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion”.
“It is time that the government réinvestisse in his expertise in order to seriously improve the services as recommended in the last report in the fall of the Auditor general of Québec,” added the fourth vice-president, in an e-mail.
