Significant seizure of heroin in Montreal : two suspects arrested

    The police have made a significant seizure of heroin and firearms, in addition to arrest two suspects, last week, in Montreal, was it announced on Tuesday.

    On 15 February, the security forces have conducted three raids at locations not specified, which resulted in the seizure of 1.2 kilograms of heroin, which represents more than 24,000 doses.

    According to the authorities, the drug was intended to be resold in the street.

    In addition to this impressive quantity of heroin, police also seized 800 tablets of various drugs, six firearms and more than $ 5,000 in cash.

    Nearly 25 grams of a substance that investigators believe to be fentanyl, have also been confiscated.

    The resale value of the drugs seized during the operation amounted to about 360 000 $, according to police.

    The two suspects pinned, Lawrence Crawford, 40 years old, and Sidney Vadish, 36 years old, appeared at the palais de justice de Montréal under charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

    “It is important to note that the survey was a priority for the SPVM, given the many recent cases of overdoses related to opioid use,” said the police in its press release.Two other suspects, who have not yet been pinned, are actively sought in the margin of this investigation initiated in the month of December.
