Several politicians have pointed out, this Monday, January 29, the sad first anniversary of the slaughter of the mosque of Quebec, which made six dead and eight injured.
The prime minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, was keen to stress that this sad event has further brought the Canadians to condemn the gesture and countered the hate.
“On this solemn anniversary, I join Canadians from across the country to honor those who have left us too soon. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families and all those who are still living with the pain and trauma caused by the attack. We also pay tribute to the first responders, whose courage and professionalism have saved lives that evening, ” wrote Mr. Trudeau.

The leader of the Coalition avenir Québec, François Legault, has also recalled the wave of solidarity that followed the night of horror at the mosque.
“It will still take time to heal all wounds. I want to tell the muslim community that she is not alone, and that quebec society as a whole supports it. Is this not what we have seen in the aftermath of the attack? Thousands of Quebec residents gathered across the territory to show their solidarity, ” he wrote on his account Facebook.
A few days ago, the mayor of Quebec city has highlighted the anniversary of the event, reminding us that while Quebec has been rocked by the tragedy.
“I remember the 29th January, 2017. The drama of the Great Mosque of Quebec has taken the lives of six citizens of Quebec, in addition to many of the victims. He was referring to the muslim community, but it is the population of Quebec who has been affected “, he wrote on his account Facebook.
