A young man from Repentigny will come with a fine of $ 2,250 to have escaped while a police officer was clinging to his vehicle.

Paul-André Lauzon comes out to good account, noted by justice John Roy Friday.

The vehicles have reached a speed of 120 km/h in a zone where the limit is 70 km/h.

Charges reduced

The accused 33-year-old was facing a number of counts of dangerous driving causing injury to a peace officer, obstructing police, and escape during a police chase.

He was also accused of driving while intoxicated, but he was acquitted as his trial began Friday, at the courthouse in Joliette.

Negotiations then occurred between the Crown and the defence, and the accused has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of assault causing bodily harm to a peace officer, in addition to the chief obstruction.

The suggestion that the common lawyers, the judge John Roy, of the Quebec Court, and sentenced him to a fine of $ 2250 $. It will then be a model citizen for a year.

Lauzon also took the opportunity to set another folder of possession of cocaine and non-compliance of commitment. Another fine of a few hundred dollars just added to his sentence.
