MAGOG | The entry into force in July next, of the act legalizing the marijuana for recreational use in Canada raises some of the concerns with the tenants and owners of residential buildings.
As an example of irritating, stress those who smoke their joint on the balcony and empestent at the same time their immediate neighbors. This is the situation experienced by a man of Magog.
Half of the nine tenants of its public HOUSING consume cannabis. If they were hiding before, and if kept inside for smoking, this is no longer the case.
“The other night, they were both on the balcony. The smoke and odour have stank my living room where I was watching tv. When I asked them politely if they could go elsewhere, they told me that in their home, it would feel too bad and that I was as good of me to do with the law that is coming,” testified the man, 57-year-old, who preferred anonymity in an interview with TVA News.
“If there is a law that prohibits smoking cigarettes within nine metres of a public building, it would be logical, it seems to me, that in the case of rental properties, it would be possible to do the same, especially that we are talking about cannabis, a product that very harmful for me,” said the tenant, who complained to the manager of its public HOUSING as well as police officers. The answer was the same in both cases: “there’s nothing We can do”.”
“It seems to me that I have the right to be able to open my patio door and my windows without freezing the face,” he said in conclusion.
