Several clubs met on Monday evening to take stock of the situation relating to Gilbert Rozon, who is referred to by several allegations of sexual assault.
They wish to discuss the future of their collaboration with the Just for laughs group, but also of the current situation that disrupts the quebec cultural milieu.
“We are going to realign the whole gang and we will put them together, argues Philippe Laprise. If everyone pulls to the left and to the right, it does not help anyone. And what we want, of course it is help all these women. That’s why we’re here.”
“If the middle of the humor is in crisis, I think it is an issue on a global scale at the time where we talk to each other,” adds Louise Richer, director of the national School of humour.
For his part, François Massicotte said he was shaken when he learned that Julie Snyder had filed a complaint of sexual assault against the magnate of humor.
“Julie, me, I’m a little in shock,” he says. What I hear is that it happened in Paris, it began. I think I was there, because it was the first of Michel Courtemanche in Paris. She hosted “Out” and cuddle, me I was there. These are affairs quite disturbing.
Comedians have told TVA News that no decision will be taken this evening.
The meeting was organized at the Brothel Comedy Club, located on Ontario street in Montreal.
