The defence asked for the acquittal of the speaker

“The speaker simply could not require Sechin such a large bribe for a positive conclusion to the case with the privatization of the state package of shares of “Bashneft“, – said the legal representative of former Minister of economic development Timothy Gridnev.

He argues that the powers of the speaker were not allowed to make decisions that are somehow related to the privatization of “Bashneft”. That is why, the defense claims that the former Minister would not be able to influence the deal.

Previously, domestic media who are in the courtroom, said the Prosecutor’s office requires the speaker of the sentence of 10 years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 500 million rubles. In addition, the ex-Minister can deprive of all titles and orders. Sechin, according to the Prosecutor, should return $ 2 million that he gave to the Minister.
