    The road conditions are perilous could be the cause of two serious accidents, one of which was fatal, occurred in the space of a few hours in the Laurentians and the Outaouais.

    In a first time, a 25-year old woman died in a violent head-on collision that took place around noon on Saint-Aimé-du-Lac-des-Iles, near Mont-Laurier.

    The victim would have deviated from his path to find himself in the opposite direction, where it struck a van that was bringing at the same time, on route 309.

    The young woman has been rushed to the hospital, where his death has unfortunately been found. As for the driver of the pickup truck, he escaped with minor injuries.

    A specialist collision investigators of the Sûreté du Québec was dispatched to the scene to try to establish the cause and circumstances of the tragedy.

    Therefore, a portion of route 309 was closed to traffic for part of the day.

    A few hours later, at about 14: 30 a.m., another collision occurred on highway 148, in the municipality of Clarendon, in the north-west of Gatineau.

    A man in his sixties suffered very serious injuries when her minivan collided with a semi-trailer transporting wood.

    The sexagenarian has been transported to hospital in a critical state. The doctors fear for his life.

    A specialist in the investigation of collisions has also been sent to the scene to try to determine what led to the accident.

    The Sûreté du Québec is reminding motorists to adapt their driving to road conditions, due to precipitation of snow that hit several areas of the province Wednesday afternoon.
