The government of Quebec is insulting and surreal attitude of Hockey Canada, which has asked the advertiser to the arena Gangneung to angliciser the names of the francophones of the canadian team during the games in Pyeongchang.

“It is surreal that in 2018 a canadian organization to do this kind of directive. It is a lack of respect for the commentators and the players francophone”, has pestered Marie Montpetit, the minister responsible for the Protection and Promotion of the French language.

“It’s insulting, it’s a lack of respect, all the more that French is a language of olympism,” said the head concerning the language of the Parti québécois, Pascal Bérubé.
He demands more respect on the part of Hockey Canada, hoping that this situation will be “corrected very quickly”.
“Respect for the francophones in this country and that we pronounce correctly the name of our olympic athletes,” urged Mr. Bérubé. “The canadian team should realize that it has of the quebec athletes, athletes, francophone, proud of their roots and proud of their membership and they should be respected. And, this is not the first time that in the framework of the olympic Games we should do this type of reminder”.
