The former archbishop of Quebec, Mgr Maurice Couture, who died Friday at the age of 91 years, will be carried to his final rest on Monday, February 5 at Quebec.

His funeral will take place at 14 pm in the basilica-cathedral Notre-Dame of Quebec, announced on Monday the diocese of Quebec. His body will also be publicly exposed, in the morning, in a ceremony that will begin at 7: 40 a.m. to the cathedral.
The day before, on Sunday 4 February, it will be also exhibited in the church of Sainte-Angèle of St-Malo on rue Marie-de-l’incarnation, Quebec.
“A time of liturgical prayer will also be the presentation of sympathy and reverence to the body of the deceased during those two days. The entire population is invited, ” says the diocese.
Auxiliary bishop of Quebec from 1982 to 1989, and archbishop of Quebec from 1990 to 2002, Archbishop Couture died at the hospital of St. Francis of Assisi Friday morning. It was then up to the sides of the cardinal Gérald C. Lacroix.
Born in 1926 in the region of Thetford Mines, ordained a priest in 1951, Monsignor Maurice Couture was known for his position in the avant-garde. It was also described as ” bishop of the poor “.
