OTTAWA | The maintenance of the ice rink in front of the Parliament, in Ottawa, is going to cost $ 2.5 million additional.

The invoice for the entire project will, therefore, $8.1 million.

Many opposition members believe that it is much too high a price to pay for a temporary installation.

The rink has been installed in front of the Parliament for the 150th anniversary of Confederation. It was to be opened only in December, but it has extended its opening until the end of the month of February.

In the office of the minister for Heritage, it is indicated that the ice rink was popular; during the end of the week, we should cross the milestone of 100 000 skaters since the opening.
