Of the alleged victims of sexual abuse by fathers Alexis Joveneau and Omer Provencher, filed Thursday in a collective action against the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

Since Friday, The Journal relates the sordid stories of sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological, financial, and forced marriages experienced by dozens of victims of father Alexis Joveneau, which remained on the North Shore for 39 years. He died in 1992.

Now that these victims have agreed to lift the veil on their secret, the law firm of Arsenault and Lemieux of Montreal will file a lawsuit, the amount of which is expected to be unveiled Friday afternoon.

“This lawsuit will lead my people towards a cure”, explained the councillor of the band Council, Norman Junior Bellefleur.

    Evidence

Father Alexis Joveneau was nicknamed God by the Innu of Unamen Shipu and Pakuashipi. He was exercising a very wide power on these two isolated communities that are still not connected by any road. He worked between 1953 and 1992.

In the Face of the evidence presented by The Newspaper, the community of Oblates du Québec has offered an apology to these communities. The Oblates claim not to have been informed of the actions taken by the parish priest Joveneau.

It is now seen as a “plague” by the religious congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

The Oblates of Mary Immaculate, had immediately set up a crisis line for victims, as well as an email address since last Friday to listen to the victims.

The niece of the executioner, Marie-Christine Joveneau, who came from Belgium for the sole purpose of supporting men and women who just like her, were victims of his uncle is very happy with the outcome.

“This lawsuit, it is the gateway to the cure” has launched the niece of the Monster of the North Shore.
