31 January 2018 marks the 60th anniversary of the launch of the space супутникаExplorer-1, respectively, and 60 years of study of the Earth from space, reports Rus.Media.

On this occasion, the space Agency NASA has published on Facebook a visualization of the mission, “Explorer 1” in 1958, as well as data on the land before the end of 2017.

After that the satellite was in space 12 years, and de-orbited over the Pacific ocean on March 31, 1970. He made more than 58 thousand revolutions around the Earth.
