The liberal Churence Rogers was easily swept away during the by-election in Newfoundland and Labrador, on Monday evening, succeeding to the former minister of public Services and the Supply of Judy Foote.
Mr. Rogers won almost 70 % of the votes cast in the electoral district of Bonavista-Burin-Trinity, far ahead of its closest rival, the conservative Mike Windsor, who has received nearly 23% of the support.
Recall that this election had been held to find a successor to Judy Foote, who resigned last summer for family reasons.
Three other by-elections held Monday in Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. The results were always waiting, shortly before 21 h.
