It is not only the western Festival which will allow the municipality of Saint-Tite, in Mauricie, to make himself known everywhere in the province.

Investments of more than $ 3 million will allow the microbrewery To the barrel to double its production and opened a pub in Montreal this year.

A new factory and 14 vats of brewing will soon be in a function.

It must be said that the current facilities of the company do more than suffice the demand.

“For the past four years, they refuse, unfortunately, systematically new customers. In the summer, we do not have the capacity to supply all existing customers in all our products. We said, we must do something,” says Francis Foley, one of the founding members.

The Cask produced each year 125 000 cans of beer. The Drum is a craft brewery and this is the case, as all the work is done by hand.

“We have a person who fills the bobbin, which puts the lid and the other that sticks the label. Let’s say that it can’t be more manual. Our hope with the new factory, that is to automate everything,” said Mr. Foley.

    In Ontario and New Brunswick

The products In the Drum are already distributed in several regions of Quebec. In 2018, they will be working on some of the shelves of Ontario LCBO stores. Fifteen dealers in New Brunswick have also placed an order.

The microbrewery moved to Montreal, where she will open a second restaurant and pub. The beer will be brewed here in Saint-Tite, then delivered by truck in the borough of Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie.

“It will make us know more by being in an area of Montreal where the beer microbrewery is the most consumed in Québec. Being close to Vermont, you can target a clientele that is very captive of the United States,” says his colleague Philippe Dumais.

The founders of the microbrewery hope that those who will discover their products will be tempted by a visit to Saint-Tite.
