    MONTREAL | the name of The first elected leader of the New democratic party of Quebec (NPDQ) will be known Sunday afternoon.

    Two candidates competing for the head of the new political party québec, Raymond Côté and Raphael Fortin. The acting leader of the NPDQ is secure for the moment by Pierre Ducasse.

    The voting results will be unveiled 15 p.m., Sunday, at the community Center leisure St Catherine of Alexandria, in Montreal.

    The NPDQ was registered since 30 January 2014 with the Director general of elections of Quebec. The idea of creating a provincial counterpart to the NDP of Canada is born in the wake of the “orange wave” of 2011, while 58 ndp had been elected in Quebec, helping to make the party the official opposition in Ottawa.

    The party won just over 1.3 % of the vote during the by-election in Louis-Hébert, on 2 October.
