The presence of an allergen in biscuits “Choco Pie”

    OTTAWA – A warning for biscuits “Choco Pie” of the mark Lotte has been issued because of undeclared almonds.

    The affected product, “the Choco Pie – Green Tea”, (UPC 8 801062 006205, format 336 g) has been sold, possibly at a national level.

    On march 9, a first reminder notice has been issued, also for the presence of undeclared almond in the following products: “Choco Pie” (UPC 8 801062 160709), “Choco Pie – Cocoa” (UPC 8 801062 475148) and “Choco Pie – Banana” (8 45502 06140 7).

    People who suffer from an allergy to almonds should not consume the above products and can return them to the institution where they bought them.

    The canadian Agency of inspection of food points out that this warning is released “as a precaution” and that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of these foods has not been reported until now.
