The smartphone will help to identify HIV in 10 seconds
Employees of the University of Surrey has developed a mobile test using technology of smartphones that allows you to almost instantly diagnose the presence of HIV.

For this it is enough one drop of patient’s blood, reports Rus.Media.

They developed the test uses a biochip surface acoustic wave (SAW) based on microelectronic components smartphones. Quartz disposable biochips extremely fast because it does not require complex labeling, signal amplification or purification, and pocket the control unit reads the signal SAW and displays the results in electronic form.

It is possible to diagnose presence of the virus in a few seconds. The researchers note that although they focused on HIV, theoretically, the test can be used for other virus diseases. In the future technology will allow to prevent epidemics of these diseases, especially if you manage to connect it to the network.

Convert smartphones and portable electronics devices to diagnose one of the ideas that can change the game in medicine. So, Apple is planning to build a noninvasive blood glucose meter in its smart watch to relieve patients from the daily need to prick themselves with needles to diagnose the level of blood sugar.
