The vehicle of the president of the islamic cultural Centre of Québec (CCIQ) has been set on fire at the beginning of the month of August, a little more than 36 hours after the announcement of the sale of municipal property at CCIQ to allow the construction of a muslim cemetery in Quebec city.
The events occurred around 1: 30 on the night of Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August (editor’s NOTE : the announcement to the cemetery had taken place on Friday).
The vehicle of Mohamed Labidi was parked near his residence, according to what one learns. The firefighters would have extinguished the flames in about thirty minutes.
The Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) has not arrested any suspects up to now. It indicates that the thesis of the criminal offence is envisaged in the framework of the police investigation.
